Buenos Aires: Day One

Sitting in my first hostel of the trip in the heart of Buenos. 2 hours of sleep since I boarded the plane and running on an hour from the day before...can't sleep...too excited. Cody and Lindsey have been out for hours. :)

Its summer here!!! So warm...so happy.

Our hostel sits on the 6th floor, in the center of town. Cathedrals and ornate arcitecture fill the city. Our taxi driver drove us through the "widest street in the world". Not sure how accurate that is, but it was hands down the widest street I've ever seen.

Beyond excited to be here. Something...maybe the culture...makes me feel oddly at home, despite the fact that it is nothing like the life I have built in Seattle. I can't escape that feeling when I travel throughout Central and South America. It makes me think that maybe there is a reason for that.

My spanish skills are suffering more than I would like, however, I remember much more than I anticipated. But, really, as of today, I look like a deer in the headlights when it is assumed that I know Spanish. Haha...well, hope I can pick up on it more and more the longer that I am here.

Hoping that this trip will be everything I have been looking foward to. Hoping that after it is all over, I will see a bit more clearly, I will love a bit more, and I will grow to be more of who I am.

Cheers to the New Year!

Leaving everything that I have known for the past 3 years. Today I packed up everything at work and said goodbye. One more official day at the office and then...South America...!!! I can't believe its here...after all of this time of planning, talking, thinking, dreaming. Here it is right before me, becoming a reality, but unable to wrap my head around it. Six more days...
